This is a collection of my Mum’s short stories and creative writing.
Rosalie Jean Saunders (née Brydon) was a prolific writer, although she kept this hidden from many.
Following her sudden death in August 2020, Rosalie left a laptop with over 900 pages of writing. This book of creative writing is the third volume of Rosalie’s collected works. Volume one was an autobiography and volume two was an anthology of poetry. This book shares her creative writing.
These stories are arranged into eleven, themed sections. We begin with four geographical settings. First, Scottish stories, followed by a screenplay set in her hometown of Selkirk. Then stories inspired by her time in India, and a series with a China connection. A few fantasy and sci-fi tales precede a series of short essays themed around the six elements. Then other short stories, articles and book reviews lead us to a collection of personal stories and insights. And finally, three articles where Rosalie anticipates her own death and the afterlife.
This is a beautiful insight into Rosalie’s creative mind.
