Happy Easter

Alleluia, Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

This morning, I participated in the Easter day Eucharist celebration with renewal of baptismal vows on YouTube.

It was lovely that it was set within St Ninian’s Cathedral in Perth. I found this service, within the midst of this swirling pandemic, to be very moving. I was delighted that, unlike previous broadcasts, the Eucharist didn’t just cut to the closing prayers immediately after the consecration. We were able to witness +Ian and Carrie taking the bread and wine. Something felt right about that: the bread and wine are consecrated to be eaten and although I could not partake it felt comforting to watch others… complete the communion. It’s funny the things that this distancing has revealed.

The God of peace,
who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
that great shepherd of the sheep,
through the
blood of the eternal covenant,
make you perfect in every good work,
working in you that which is pleasing and good;
and the blessing of God almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be upon you, and remain with you always.
