We don’t want that now!

A couple of days ago I bought a couple of brushes: a toilet brush and a broom.

I know! I live the rock ‘n’ roll dream.

When I got home I went out into the back garden with Reuben and Joshua to sweep away the stones that they had strewn across the paving stones and lawn.

I crouched down to address Reuben and Joshua, to explain to them why it wasn’t a good idea to put stones on the lawn as it dulls the blades of the lawnmower.

They both listened intently, Joshua especially.

“Now,” I concluded, “could you help daddy pick up the stones from the grass please? Because we don’t want stones on the grass, do we?”

Joshua looked me in the eye and said “Oh my goodness! We don’t want that now, do we?”
