It’s not my Mum’s birthday tomorrow

You’ve got to love American social networking sites. Plaxo thinks that it’s my Mum’s birthday tomorrow, as I got this email from them:

Rosalie J. Saunders’s birthday is tomorrow ( Apr. 8 )

No! Mum’s next birthday is 04/08/08, which in UK-speak equates to 4th August, not 8th April which it is in USA-speak.

  1. Hello Mum!

Plaxo (www.plaxo.com) is an online social-networking web service that a number of my friends use to make sure their address books are up-to-date, and to keep in touch with their friends.

A bit like Facebook. But different.

I signed up for it a while back to check it out, and it allowed me to upload my Outlook address book to my account so that it could check to see if any of my friends were on Plaxo too. Which is where it must have got your birthday, because I have it defined in my Outlook address book. Of course!

I remember when your birthday is! Which is why you didn’t get a random birthday card on 08 April this year! xx
