Gilbert’s Fridge – How far to Hitchin

Gilbert’s Fridge was by far the best TV show that I ever watched as a child.

That and an episode of Panorama where they glued bottle tops and pine cones to the underside of road sweepers, something to do with preparations for nuclear fallout. Or something.

Anyway, How far to Hitchin?

  1. I am moving to Hitchin next week and I used to watch the show all the time. Since we decided to move there I have been humming the tune ever since. Even my mum remembers it.
I also remember Gilbert interviewing Aswad and asking the drummer to skin up – ITV got complaints about it. I had to ask my mum what he meant. Genius.
