I’m accompanying one of our developers to the Scotland on Rails conference in April; a two day event in Edinburgh. I thought I ought to at least have more than a basic grounding in Rails. I’m really looking forward to it
Today my work PC crashed seven times and then refused to boot.
Which was okay because my new Dell Precision 690 workstation had just arrived.
All 10 Kg (or thereabouts) of it.
I know … I had to carry it from the techies’ workshop to my PC.
I’m not a fan of horror films, but I imagine that the increase in the number of cremations will have had a detrimental effect on horror films.
The only snippets of vaguely horror-like films that I’ve seen have had scenes set in graveyards with zombified bodies rising up from the graves.
I can’t imagine that puddles of dust rising up from the earth has the same frightening effect as putrefying flesh.
“Oh look! There’s dust on the ground”
“Well, it’s … erm … swirling about a bit.” <Cough>
“Yeah, you’re right … it doesn’t look particularly threatening, does it!”
Anyway, that’s what I was thinking of as I drove through the freezing fog, past the graveyard on my way home this evening.
I’m now on my third prescription of antibiotics.
