Has anyone else here used 8hands yet? Seemingly it offers:
- One point access to MySpace, Facebook, Blogs, Flickr, YouTube and more.
- Notifications of new comments, messages, friend requests, videos, feeds, and more – in real time.
- An instant messenger where you can easily chat and share content with your social network friends.
- A way to organize your social media content (pics, videos, posts) in one place.
I really liked their tag line though:
It’s time for 8hands, ’cause constantly checking all your social sites is so 2007.
This sounds good. If I still used Windows I’d get this in a second especially since Bebo support is coming soon!
It’s a great tool.
What is it like compared to Flock, which seems to offer similar integration?
Richard-
It’s nothing like Flock.
First off, I don’t know about you, but I love my Firefox the way it is. would never trade it for a social browser, plus. I heard some of the add ons doesn’t work on it.
8hands is a desktop tool, which I find much better-
you get notification all the time, no matter what you do on your computer and even when the browser is closed.
Another important point is that is has IM with all of your friends, and the media share is just as easy as in Flock.
One more better thing about 8hands is the “top 8” which presents your most communicated friends, cross network calculated.
Ultimately, I think it’s a personal choice based on personal preferences, but I do think you should check it out and then decide for yourself whats best for you.
Cheers.
