Off sick

Bottles of pills

I’m off work again.

I was off last week too, having picked up a cold the day before I was due to return after the Christmas and New Year holidays. I got over what I thought was the worst of it by Wednesday and returned to work, even though I didn’t feel 100% and managed to blow my way through three boxes of Kleenex.

However, over the weekend I got worse. Jane drove me down to Edinburgh on Friday evening for Powerpoint, I slept almost the whole way there and sat throughout the gig on a spare drummer’s stool.

I slept for as long as I could on Saturday morning before going to my nephew Owen’s second birthday party. Then I went back to bed.

Sunday I slept.

Monday (yesterday) I slept. I woke up around 14:00, got up, went to the Co-op for more tissues and cough medicine. I went back to bed.

Today I’m feeling a little brighter, but still very wheezy and coughing up … I’ll spare you the details, which is a shame as I was look forward to my debut use of the word ‘globules’ on this blog.

It’s frustrating being ill. I guess I’ll just have to ‘be’.
