Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible

Apologies for the lack of updates and blog posts recently, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

While I’ve been able to throw a few updates at the other place I’ve just not had the time to sit down and write a proper blog post in ages. There has just been too much on; or put another way: I’ve taken on way too much!

As well as work being incredibly busy just now — and getting busier by the day, which wasn’t helped by my PC playing up and a few hitches getting me a replacement one that either worked at all, or worked with my extra graphics card — I’m also resuming Sunday clerical duties in the run up to Christmas, including preaching at the Alumni Carol Service at St Salvator’s Chapel, University of St Andrews on Tuesday 18 December.

This week I have Powerpoint Edinburgh on Friday, which also means rehearsal on Thursday evening and so leaving our work Christmas do early.

Most nights I’ve been working late at the office, trying to clear my work-load (or reinstall all my applications on a clean machine) and then working late into the evening at home getting stuff done here, getting up again at 06:00 to continue it.

But … do you know, that all said, I’m really enjoying life just now. It’s busy, it’s full, it’s fun and challenging all in equal measure. I’m just glad that I have an organizational system that allows me to track everything and keep on top of everything that I need to do.

In other news: Jane is on the mend, recovering well at home. Some days she has more energy than others, but series 6 of 24 is more than keeping her occupied. That and online Christmas shopping and Christmas card writing.

How are you? What have you been up to this past week?

  1. I’m great, thanks so much for asking!

This week I have mostly been:

    – Looking at the place you used to work at as I walk to & from work
    – Christmas shopping with the GLW
    – Worrying about my daughters first boyfriend and how that will pan out
    – Coping with distraught daughter after b/f dumps her by text
    – Watching said daughter in school play AND school Christmas concert
    – Practising for our church’s own Christmas presentation as I’m playing bass
    – Trying to find time to set up & use new PC that’s been sitting in boxes for a week

    Erm, that’s about it.

    Oh, and going to work

  2. I have been, sorting out people’s relationships, giving spiritual advice, talking with a suicidal student about how life will get better if she just sticks with it for a bit longer, helping a guy currently living in ‘Narnia’ to find the courage to come out and be honest about who he is with his friends, addressing 2,500 students at the annual CU Carol service. Preparing and preaching at the Annual Chaplaincy Carol Service, playing with a wii…

…oh and recruiting for an imaginary tunnel society
