Seeing Jonny Baker’s Sign of the Times photograph on his blog today reminded me of this photograph I took in London last month (above).
It was taken near Waterloo station. What struck me were the two icons: On the left, outside a church building, a statue of Jesus’s crucifix: an icon that you very often see around people’s necks.
On the right, an advertisement poster for the Apple iPod: an icon that you probably more readily see around people’s necks today.
