Day: 11 November 2005

Just enjoy the Gene Simmons face …

Gene Simmons birthday cake

This message and photo was posted on the Joinees.org forum, from Joinee Dave:

Happy Birthday!

I found a cake for you!

Probably best if you ignore the words and just enjoy the Gene Simmonds face…

I’m still crying with laughter.

Small faces

montage of Gareth

Yesterday I bumped into an old university friend of mine, Jim Campbell, who is the parish minister in Selkirk. He didn’t recognise me.

“Ooh, you’ve changed,” he said. “But then, I suppose, we all have.”

Prompted by my before and after photos (below) I hunted out 16 photos of through the years.

I don’t think I’ve ever looked the same!

Thirty-four

Gareth Gareth
Before (me, aged about 1 year old), and After (me, aged alot!)

Today I celebrate my 34th birthday. The next time my age has consecutive numbers I’ll be 45 — which is the most satisfying darts score call. Try it! “FOR-ty FI-i-i-ive!”

I was born at 01:04 on Thursday 11 November 1971, at the Eastern General Hospital, Edinburgh.
