================================================================ S H I P W R E C K E D ================================================================ The ship went down and was lost. A man was swept up on the shore of an island. Used to five-star hotels, for four lonely months he ate bananas, drank coconut juice and longed for his old life. One day he spied a rowboat and in it was a gorgeous woman. "Where did you come from? How did you get here?" he asked. "I rowed from the other side of the island," she replied. "I landed there when my cruise ship sank." Baffled, the man asked: "How did you get the rowboat?" "Oh, simple," she said. "I made the rowboat out of materials that I found on the island." 'B-B-But you had no tools or hardware," he said. "Oh, that was no problem," replied the woman. "There is a very unusual stratum of alluvial rock. I found that if I fired it to a certain temperature in my kiln, it melted into ductile iron. I used that for tools. But enough of that," she said, " Let's row over to my place." After a few minutes they docked at a small wharf. A stone walk led to an exquisite bungalow. "Would you like a drink?" "No, no thank you," he said. "I can't take any more coconut juice." The woman smiled: "I have a still. How about a Pinna Colada?" Later she announced: " I'm going to slip into something comfortable. Would you like a shower and shave?" In the bathroom cabinet was a razor made from a bone handle with two sharply-honed shells fastened to a swivel mechanism. "Tell me," she said later, "we've been out here for a very long time. There's something I'm sure you really feel like doing right now, something you've been longing for all these months. You know..." She stared into his eyes. He couldn't believe it. "You mean ... ?" he replied. "You mean ... I can check my e-mail from here?"
