Psion Revo and Mobile PhoneMobile phone

Connecting to data-enabled cellular phones

All you need to connect your Series 5, 5mx 7, NetBook, Revo or Revo Plus to a mobile (cellular) phone with a built-in infrared modem is the messaging software that was supplied with your Psion.

Update

Series 5mx users should ensure that the Mobile Connectivity update v1.10 (604 KB Zip) has been installed on the Psion if they use the following mobile phones: Ericsson T28 (with DI28), Siemens S25, Sagem M850, Bosch 908 and Motorola Timeport L7089. This download is available from the My Psion downloads area of the Psion website; you are required to register and log-in to access this area.

Once a connection has been established, you can then send and receive emails, faxes (not Revo) or SMS (not Series 5), or even browse the Internet wirelessly.

Which phones work?

Psion has tested a number of data-enabled mobile phones and confirmed them to be compatible with the Series 5, 5mx, 7 or Revo. Their list, which is now a little out-of-date, can be found at www.psion.com/mobile/irphone.asp

No Built-in Modem

If you have a mobile (cellular) phone that is without a built-in modem, you can still connect to your Psion Computer using the Psion Travel Modem. You will then need to purchase the appropriate GSM cable for your phone.
