============== Re-install Tip ============== I've reformatted several times this way.... 1. Boot to a DOS prompt. 2. Format c: /s 3. When its finished I turn off the computer and put in the Windows start up disk...NOT the recovery CD. 4. The computer will ask if you want CD rom support. 5. Naturally choose that option and then with the Windows 98 cd in the drive change to that drive cd\ then d: if d is your cd rom and type setup. Works everytime. This way you get a clean install of Windows without all the OEM crap. Naturally you will need a full version of W98 and not an upgrade cd. NOTE: Test your boot disk first before a format to make sure you can get to a CD rom drive prompt. Source: posting on Windows 98 general discussion newsgroup
